Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you tune
Will an ECU tune void my warranty?
In Canada, the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act equivalent means a dealer must prove the tune caused a failure to deny warranty coverage — they can't blanket void it. Many of our clients daily drive tuned vehicles under warranty without issue. We always recommend understanding your specific situation. Our tunes are fully reversible to stock at any time.
How does remote tuning work?
Most European vehicles require the ECU to be removed and mailed to us. We read the factory file, build your custom calibration, flash it back onto the ECU, and ship it back within 24 hours of receiving it. Total turnaround including shipping is typically 5–7 days.
Some vehicles support OBD-based tuning using a remote tuning device (+$450). We will confirm which method applies to your specific vehicle before you pay anything extra. Contact us to check compatibility for your car.
What fuel do I need?
Our Stage 1 tunes are optimized for 91-93 octane pump gas — widely available across Canada. Stage 2 and E85 tunes require premium fuel or ethanol blends as specified. We'll confirm fuel requirements before delivering your tune.
Is my car supported?
We support over 290 vehicles across BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, Aston Martin, Maserati, Nissan, Subaru, Range Rover, and more. If you don't see your specific model, contact us — we may still be able to help.
How many horsepower will I gain?
Gains vary by platform but Stage 1 typically delivers 15-25% more power and torque. BMW S58 engines see 60-80whp Stage 1. Mercedes AMG M177 typically gains 50-70whp. Porsche turbos see 40-60whp Stage 1. We provide realistic, dyno-verified numbers — not marketing claims.
Can I return to stock?
Yes — always. We provide the original stock file with every tune. You can flash back to factory at any time, for any reason. Dealer visit? Selling the car? No problem.
Do you offer custom tunes for heavily modified cars?
Absolutely. We specialize in full custom calibrations for built engines, big turbos, and unique setups. Contact us with your full mod list and we'll scope out what's involved. Our founder has tuned everything from daily drivers to all-out race builds.
What's included in the price?
Every tune includes: the calibration file for your vehicle, up to 3 revision rounds, data logging support, and lifetime technical support from House of Power. We don't disappear after the sale.
Do you ship to the US?
Yes — our remote delivery works anywhere in North America and beyond. Pricing is in CAD. US customers typically save money on the exchange rate. We have clients across the continental US, and prices are clearly displayed at checkout.
